Mark Grifo is passionate about remaining engaged in people’s lives by helping them succeed using the knowledge and experience he has obtained in his 30+ years in business. As a longtime self-employed professional and a seasoned real estate investor, Mark has developed sharp skills in negotiating, finance, quality service and follow up. He always tries to be one step ahead of the others, creative-minded, and open to new ideas. “I believe that if you research thoroughly, apply yourself fully, think outside the box, you can find opportunities, and get the best results.”
Mark’s extensive real estate experience has allowed him to help clients with purchases, sales, investments, renovations and mortgage lending. He’s a licensed salesperson in Maryland, and a Certified International Property Specialist. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with some diverse clientele over the past five years. One time, I bought an REO for a client, renovated it then sold it to that client and his family which was incredibly rewarding. I also sold a foreclosed property to a Detroit music personality in Detroit from my office in Maryland, and just sold two townhouses in 24 days in Glen Burnie. I do it all, and I love it all,” he says.
A main focus of this empty nester is on clients who are in his very same shoes. Mark helps other empty nesters in the Maryland area who want to move on to the next stage of their lives and scale down to a lifestyle with little or no maintenance. He will manage the entire process for his clients, from selling their home to dealing with the contents, to even finding a new home.
On the flip side, Mark enjoys assisting young buyers through the gauntlet of buying first homes. As a father of two millennials, Mark uses his parent’s eye when counselling young buyers with the first major purchase decision of their lives. He will not let young buyers make a bad decision just to make a commission.
Originally from Wooster, Ohio, Mark graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a BS in Business Management. He spent 15 years in operations and corporate finance with Marriott Corporation in Bethesda, MD, then served as owner of Bay State Steel Co. for many years as a worldwide distributor of stainless and electrical steels.
A resident of the Severna Park area for nearly four decades, Mark is President of the Fins West Condominium Association in Ocean City, MD. He loves the beach, is married to the same woman for 34 years and has two grown children.
